Rangers fans took to Twitter to praise the performance of Joe Aribo during their 2-0 win over Progres Niederkorn on Thursday night.
Steven Gerrard’s side managed to see off their opponents and, despite his unhappiness with the result, he will take his team to Luxembourg with an important two-goal advantage knowing a positive result will mean that they will face FC Midtjylland in the next round.
Aribo opened the scoring after just 20 minutes when he finished an effort with composure after picking up a pass from Scott Arfield on the edge of the box before Sheyi Ojo finally extended Rangers’ lead (Daily Record).
SunSport gave the English midfielder a Man of the Match worthy eight out of ten for his 90-minute performance, stating: “Bright start with creativity and industry and an appreciative crowd sparked him to better. Big presence, nimble touch, some dazzling footwork. Magnificent first half finish, placing left foot shot. Booked…8”.
The central midfielder has started life at Ibrox well following his move from Charlton Athletic as the £180,000-rated individual (Transfermarkt) has already had a significant impact in front of goal.
The 23-year-old has played in all three Europa League qualifying ties so far and has managed to chip in with two goals in as many games.
And, many Rangers fans have been delighted with what they have seen from Aribo in the opening fixtures and are certainly excited to see what he can continue to produce for them as the campaign starts to get underway.
