Rangers fans were pleased with the performance of Steven Davis on Sunday, despite not being able to find too much else to be joyous about.

Steven Gerrard saw his side succumb to a 2-0 defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic in front of a packed out Ibrox crowd as Odsonne Edouard and Jonny Hayes both managed to beat Allan McGregor in between the sticks (Sky Sports).
The loss means the Bears will sit three points behind their Glaswegian rivals after four games as the international break takes centre stage next weekend.
The manager admitted his side struggled to match Celtic and took the blame for a poor overall showing. He told Sky Sports following the end of the match: “Our performance collectively and individually wasn’t good enough to win a derby. I’m part of that so I’ll take as much responsibility that comes my way.
“I don’t think Celtic outplayed us they just pressed us hard and were effective in their game-plan. We couldn’t handle their direct play.”
However, one player that fans felt had not let them down whilst out on the Ibrox turf was Davis, although that might not come as a surprise as the Northern Ireland international would have played in a number of Old Firm ties in the past.
Ibrox Noise were rather pleased with what they saw from the midfielder as they wrote: “Rangers’ best player by a country mile, Davis was the only man in a blue shirt who seemed to be in control, and had any time on the ball. Used the ball wisely, went on a couple of neat runs and tried to make things happen. 8.”
Indeed, fans appeared to agree with that particular viewpoint and took to Twitter in their numbers to share their praise for Davis, with many believing he was the only individual that would able to come out of the game with his head held high.
Here are just some of their reactions…
The only player interested on that park was Steven Davis, everyone else didn’t have a clue.

Rest of yer comments I agree with but Davis was the one player I thought played well but I suppose thats just my own opinion of it.

Only Katic, Davis and Jack get pass marks. Rest of the team went hiding. Poor performance Rangers.

Absolutely dreadful performance looked very much like the old rangers from 2 years ago not enough pressure we need to go back to our roots get Defoe and Alfredo starting 4–4-2. Davis only player who played for the badge and fans #WATP

Davis was outstanding today but rangers showed absolutely nothing going forward. Celtic defended well and caught us sleeping at the back. Need someone to step up and create some chances up top

Got what we deserved today. Davis was absolutely magnificent and everyone else needs to take a long hard look at themselves including Gerrard. Hate turning on a Rangers player, but Ojo simply is not good enough to play for us.

Ojo poor, Aribo poor, Kamara poor, Tav poor, Arfield poor…
Flanagan, Katic and Davis been decent.
But we set up with a negative mindset and that wasn’t going to work. Paid them far too much respect and paid for it
