Jordan Campbell lauded the display of Alfredo Morelos as he helped Glasgow Rangers win 2-0 at home in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

The Lowdown: Back on track

After the hugely disappointing 3-0 loss away at their closest rivals in the Old Firm derby, the Teddy Bears have bounced back impressively with consecutive convincing wins against Hearts and now Hibernian at Ibrox.

James Tavernier and Morelos came up with the goals to ensure that another three points were heading to Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side, and the Colombia international in particular impressed.

The Latest: Campbell lauds Morelos

Taking to Twitter after the game, The Athletic journalist Campbell was left lauding Morelos' performance:

"Morelos was superb again tonight.

"His touch was sharp, sprayed it wide brilliantly, timed his runs in behind the best I’ve seen him do & was composed in the box.

"That’s 9 goals in 11 under GvB. He’s getting close to his late 2019 form.

"Thought that ship may have sailed."

The Verdict: Back to his best

Last night's display showed that Morelos is certainly back to his best in a Light Blues shirt.

The striker won no fewer than six of his duels in total, the joint-second most out of his teammates, and aside from his goal, had eight shots, three successful dribbles and made two key passes (SofaScore).

His five accurate long balls was testament to how much he wanted to feed his teammates as well as himself, and his 66 touches and 84% pass accuracy ranked highly among the squad (SofaScore).

Morelos was often criticised for some of his performances earlier this season, but now he is certainly silencing his critics.
