According to Glasgow Live, Rangers could be without Scott Arfield against Hamilton on Sunday in the Premiership.
Arfield a doubt
Arfield was introduced in the second half by Gerrard during the Gers’ 3-3 draw with Benfica in the Europa League, and it appears he picked up a knock in the process.
Now, it seems he could be a doubt for the Hamilton clash this weekend.
Arfield’s cameo was far from his best against the Portuguese side on Thursday – his poor pass at the end of the game allowed Benfica to break through and equalise in the final minute. That will no doubt feel like two points dropped for the Gers given they led 3-1 at one point, and Benfica were down to 10 men.
However, Arfield has been an important player for Gerrard so far this campaign. He has appeared in every single game in all competitions for the Ibrox outfit so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists. He has been a go-to man for Gerrard for a while – last year, the boss said he is “like the glue in the dressing room“.
Has Scott Arfield been a success at Rangers?
Being without him for the match this weekend would no doubt be a blow for Gerrard. However, the Gers will be hungry after their European disappointment – a win should be on the cards with or without Arfield.
