Former Glasgow Rangers fans favourite Daniel Candeias continued his impressive form for Genclerbirligi with a fantastic strike on Sunday.
Candeias enjoying life in Turkey
Candeias, who departed Ibrox in 2019, was in action for his new club against Gaziantep this past weekend.
And it was his strike that earned his team a 1-1 draw. Coming in at the back post, the Portuguese star netted a sublime side-footed volley following a deep cross from the left flank.
Could still do a job at Ibrox
Steven Gerrard and co have had a fantastic start to the season in Scotland, going unbeaten through their first 18 matches of the campaign, but a player like Candeias could have given them an extra bit of creativity. He was a player they were eager to keep, but he chose to depart. Somehow, they sold the 32-year-old for just £250,000 after signing him for £725,000 – his current Transfermarkt value is £720,000.
Would you like Daniel Candeias to return to Ibrox?
In 97 games for the 54-time Scottish champions, he scored 14 goals and racked up an impressive 25 assists. So far this campaign, he has also been in flying form. This was his second goal of the term, with him also creating another, and his 7.17 WhoScored rating is better than any of his teammates. Whether he would have been a regular starter under Gerrard this season is up for debate, but he is showing that he still has what it takes to impress at a high level.
