Glasgow Rangers: Fans rage at Michael Stewart comments

Glasgow Rangers’ fantastic start to the season continued against Dundee United this past weekend.
After winning five and drawing one of their first six matches of the Premiership season, the Gers went into the clash against the Tangerines hoping that they could stay on the right track as they look for a first major trophy since 2011. And that is exactly what they did, winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Ryan Kent, James Tavernier, Kemar Roofe and Scott Arfield.
However, it wasn’t all plain-sailing for the Gers. Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Jack, Brandon Barker and Leon Balogun all came away with injuries, with Morelos on the end of a particularly bad tackle. Steven Gerrard slammed the decision not to give a red card by referee Kevin Clancy, saying that if it had been the other way round, the Colombia international would have received his marching orders.
Do you agree with Michael Stewart?
Yes

No

Pundit Michael Stewart did not like those comments at all, sharing his anger with Gerrard on Sportscene (via The Daily Record). He has been on the end of the Gers’ supporters’ wrath in the past, and they once again took the opportunity to criticise him here. They did so on Twitter, and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
He’s a nobody that’s somehow gifted a position on TV to spout anti Rangers bile at any and every opportunity to do so.
This needs addressed why these nobodies get so much air time on apparently impartial media

Whether it’s politics or football the guy is clueless. I heard him give his tuppance worth on the Scotland rugby team in his column once as well, he knows it all!

Michael Stewart is a nothing. A nobody. Sportscene it really doesn’t matter what he says. His views are irrelevant. He played about 2 games a year when he played. Every club he joined let him go without a fee. He never signed for a club for a transfer. Ignore him

Did Stewart really say that? Beyond parody if he did.

Genuinely thought this was a joke! Michael detests Alfie and would have wanted him hung drawn and quartered if other way about, exactly the point our manager made, shouldn’t be surprised that a man who gets paid by Celtic feels like this, sad he gets to state it on “impartial” BBC
