Many Glasgow Rangers fans have been left fuming over some comments that have emerged on Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The club have now confirmed that the Dutchman has been appointed as their new manager, succeeding Steven Gerrard who left to join Aston Villa.

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Crystal Palace chairman - now pundit - Simon Jordan was asked to give his reaction to the news, to which he claimed that he was 'not overwhelmed' by it.

He questioned the ambition of the Light Blues by appointing van Bronckhorst, and also claimed that the biggest beneficiary of Gerrard's departure would be their bitter rivals Celtic.

Of course, Gerrard did very well with the Teddy Bears, winning them an incredible undefeated Scottish Premiership title last season, but van Bronckhorst has won five major trophies in his managerial career so far too, including guiding Feyenoord to their first Eredivisie title in 18 years back in the 2016/17 season (BBC), ahead of the likes of Ajax and PSV.

A former Gers player as well of course, GvB is an appointment that the supporters can get behind.
