Glasgow Rangers star Ianis Hagi has said that he is happy at Ibrox amidst reported interest from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
Hagi completed a permanent move to the 54-time Scottish champions from Genk last summer after initially joining on loan in January 2020.
“I think it’s a positive season so far for me, on the pitch and off the pitch also
“I obviously came here with the mindset of winning trophies, so by winning the trophies and also doing individually really well, then I’ll just see where I am.
“Obviously, I’m happy where I am, it’s a really good environment to grow in as a young player. The mentality that is here is just what I wanted since I was a kid. I wanted to be at a club where they demand every single day to win, to get better and to win trophies.
“So, it suits my mentality, and as I said, I’m really happy.”
Finding his feet
The £4.05m-valued Romania international (Transfermarkt) initially struggled after his transfer from Belgium, with many fans criticising his displays for the Gers. However, as the season has progressed, Hagi has grown in stature and has become an important member of the squad. So far this campaign. he has four goals and 10 assists in all competitions, with Romania U21 boss Adrian Mutu even calling him “super” only last November (The Daily Record).
Do you want Hagi to leave?
Leipzig, of course, would represent a big step up in quality. They are currently second in the Bundesliga and, as previously mentioned, there are through to the Champions League round of 16. However, after moving around several clubs in recent seasons, it is important Hagi takes some time to settle. If he is enjoying his time in Scotland, then there is no need to rush into another transfer.
In other news, Rangers fans are livid at this newspaper article.
