Rangers could still launch a transfer move to sign reported target Nicolas Raskin, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Lowdown: Rangers' previous interest in Raskin

The Ibrox club have been linked with a move for the Standard Liege midfielder in the past and were even in talks with the player during the previous summer transfer window.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the 21-year-old looks set to leave the Belgian side next month as his relationship with the club has broken down, forced to train on his own and with the B-team.

This has led to Jones sharing his thoughts on the situation and whether it could lead to seeing Rangers put their eyes back on the player.

The Latest: Raskin back on Rangers' radar

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones had this to say on the matter and the possibility of Rangers putting Raskin back on their radar.

"It’s interesting how he has been pushed to one side at the moment. That certainly seems to have put him back in the shop window for Rangers."

The Verdict: A good opportunity for Rangers

This season has seen Raskin score one goal and deliver four assists in 17 league appearances for his current club, as well as winning more tackles (31) than any other player at the Belgian side.

This suggests to us that not only is the midfielder an occasional goal threat, but he can also be a tough opponent when out of possession in terms of trying to win the ball back for his team.

His overall performances have earned the former Rangers target a season rating of 6.91/10 from WhoScored, making him the second-highest rated outfield player at the club.

Taking all of this into account, we feel that if an opportunity to sign Raskin arises in January, Rangers should definitely explore the possibility of bringing him to Ibrox and adding him to Michael Beale's squad.
