Rangers: Nantes readying transfer bid for Glen Kamara -Rangers News

French club Nantes are reportedly readying a bid to sign Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

The Lowdown: Kamara’s season so far

So far this season, the £21k-per-week midfielder has made 16 appearances for the Gers across all competitions but has only started seven of them.

Earlier this month, Michael Beale claimed that the Finnish international would be a big player for the club moving forward.

Regardless of that, and the fact that his current contract is not set to expire until the summer of 2025, Kamara has found himself linked with a move away from Ibrox in the coming weeks.

The Latest: Nantes readying Kamara bid

According to reports in France (via Daily Record), Nantes have Kamara as their number one transfer target for the January window and are prepared to pay up to £6m to sign the 27-year-old.

The Verdict: Rangers should keep hold of Kamara

Last season saw Kamara score three goals and provide three assists in 31 SPFL appearances, which shows how useful he can be in front of goal from midfield.

In addition to that, the Finnish international also showcased his defensive capabilities as only three other Rangers players made more interceptions than him (23).

Should Rangers sell Glen Kamara in January?

Kamara also ended the previous campaign with the highest passing accuracy percentage (91.1%) out of Rangers players that started at least one game, highlighting how comfortable he is on the ball and moving it around the pitch.

Taking all of this into account, we feel that Rangers should not consider selling Kamara in January, regardless of whether a £6m bid from Nantes arrives on their door.

Moving forward, if Beale wants to stick to his word about the midfielder and his future at Rangers, he will have to start giving him some regular minutes in the team and prove that he does see the player as a vital squad member.
