According to TEAMtalk, Borussia Dortmund and Leeds United are amongst a number of clubs interested in Glasgow Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
Kamara in demand
The Finland international has been a hugely important player for the Ibrox outfit this season. So far, he has missed just one game in all competitions, and has earned plenty of praise for his performances.
It seems that his displays have attracted attention from across Europe. Other than Dortmund and Leeds, Everton, Southampton, Monaco and Lille have also scouted the 25-year-old in recent weeks.
Gerrard desperate to keep him
Kamara was also the subject of interest earlier this year – Marseille, for example, were linked with a move, with the Gers man said to be valued at €10m (£9m) – a huge rise on the £50,000 the 54-time Scottish champions spent to sign him in the first place. Clearly, such a fee (180 times more than the number he cost the club) was demanded to put any potential buyers off, and it seemed to work.
However, as is the case in Scotland, the best players are always in the shop window. That doesn’t mean that Gerrard and co will not do all they can to keep him at the club though, as the TEAMtalk report also says that Gerrard is desperate to get him to sign a new contract to see off any interest in his services.
Does Kamara deserve a new contract?
It is therefore vital that Ross Wilson backs his manager and offers Kamara a deal he can’t refuse. In the middle of a potentially historical season, it would be a huge blow to lose a player of the former Dundee man’s ability.
In other news, Alan Hutton has hailed the turnaround of this 27-year-old Gers star. Let us know what you think in the comments!
