According to Rincon Escoces, Brighton have held informal negotiations with Glasgow Rangers over a move for Glen Kamara.
Kamara eyed by Premier League
Kamara has been linked with a move away from Ibrox over the last year – Marseille were believed to be interested in making a move during the summer according to France Football.
Now, the Seagulls are said to be eyeing an approach. Informal conversations have taken place and, while no concrete move has been made, interest has been registered.
Worrying for Gerrard
Whether Steven Gerrard and co want to hold on to Kamara or not, interest from the Premier League is a barrier to any hopes of keeping him north of the border. After all, the English top flight can boast more money, better players and more prestige than anything on offer in Scotland.
Still, the Gers’ current form and the historical nature of the campaign should at least keep Kamara and others at the club until the end of the season. With an 11-point lead at the top of the Premiership, the Gers are well in with a chance of ending Celtic’s 10-in-a-row charge, and their 23-game unbeaten run suggests they could fight for a number of trophies this term.
Is Glen Kamara worth £10m?
Currently valued at £10m according to The Athletic, Kamara is an important part of Gerrard’s first-team squad, with the boss himself even calling him a “class act” in the past. The earliest he can be allowed to depart is in the summer.
