According to The Daily Record, Glasgow Rangers are interested in signing Fashion Sakala on a pre-contract deal this month.
Sakala on radar
Zambia international Sakala is reportedly high on the transfer shortlist of the Gers. With his contract set to run out at the end of the season, he would be available on a free transfer.
Given he has potential for a strong sell-on fee, as well as the versatility to play across the front three, he fits in to Ross Wilson’s business model at Ibrox. West Ham United and Newcastle United are both said to be interested in his services as well.
Sakala moved to Oostende from Spartak Moscow in 2018 and has been a solid signing since then. In 83 games for his current club, he has 20 goals to his name, as well as six assists. Throughout his career, he has 30 goals at a professional level.
Would you like to sign Sakala?
He is just 23 years of age, has ten caps for his country, and can play both on the left and right wing as well as up front. Clearly, this is a player with plenty of potential, and on a free transfer he could be a fantastic find for Steven Gerrard and co. It remains to be seen whether they can beat the Premier League to his signature.
In other news, Rangers fans are unhappy at this latest Gerrard reveal.
