Glasgow Rangers fans were absolutely delighted with the performance of Bongani Zungi for South Africa against Sao Tome and Principe.
The 28 year-old actually started on the bench for the Bafana Bafana, only coming on with 24 minutes left on the clock. However, that still gave him time to score a goal himself, with the Ibrox outfit’s player helping his country to a 2-0 victory as they look to qualify for the African Cup of Nations.

Zungu has played just 45 minutes under Steven Gerrard since making the switch to Scotland on transfer deadline day, but performances like the one he put in for South Africa are exactly what his manager will be expecting from him on a regular basis across the rest of the campaign. If he can do that, the Gers may just have a real chance of winning their first piece of major silverware since 2011.
