Glasgow Rangers target John Lundstram has kept Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson guessing during Sheffield United’s pre-match conference prior to their clash against Chelsea.
Lundstram discusses future
The Gers have been heavily linked with a move for Lundstram (Alan Nixon), who turned down a new contract with the Blades last year (BBC). He is therefore out of contract at the end of the season.

Speaking before the Chelsea match, Lundstram said (via Rangers News):
“It’s the same situation, everything’s still on the table. We’ll see what happens.
“Of course, [speculation] is bound to happen but I’m here and while I am here I’m committed, as you’ve seen in my performances.
“I’m 110 per cent and no-one can question that. Who knows what will happen but while I’m here, I’ll give everything.”
Is he needed?
Like most of the Yorkshire outfit’s squad, Lundstram has failed to hit the same heights as he did last term. After scoring five times in 34 matches last time out (Transfermarkt), the £7.2m-valued 26-year-old (Transfermarkt) is yet to hit the back of the net in 17 games this season as Chris Wilder’s side lie bottom of the table.

In Steven Davis and Scott Arfield, Rangers do have a couple of midfielders who are fast approaching the end of their careers. However, they still have Glen Kamara, Ryan Jack and Joe Aribo in the middle of the park, while Nnamdi Ofoborh will join up with the Ibrox outfit at the end of the season. While Lundstram has quality, there is no indication that he would prove to be a big upgrade on what Gerrard already has at his disposal.
