Glasgow Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has admitted his frustration at being on the sidelines for a number of weeks this season due to injury.

Jack’s substitute appearance against Ross County, in which he scored in a 5-0 victory, saw him pick up his first minutes of action in the Premiership since November 22nd – a knee injury had kept him out for a sustained period prior (Transfermarkt).

Following the match, Jack admitted his frustration with being unable to play. He said (via The Daily Record):
“It was a huge performance from the team, five goals and another clean sheet, a lot of positives.
“So I’m delighted for the team and, personally, I was delighted to be back.
“It was a long six, seven weeks for me. You always hear it as a player you want to be on the pitch helping as much as you can.
“It was obviously frustrating, it was tough, but at the same time, it gave me time to think things through and make sure, mentally, I was right for when I came back and for when I’m needed to make a big push until the end of the season.”
Boost for Gerrard
Having Jack back available is a huge boost for Steven Gerrard. The £2.7m-valued 28-year-old (Transfermarkt) has been in a rock in the middle of the park for the Ibrox outfit when he has been available, making 18 appearances in all competitions. His 90.6% passing accuracy puts him in the top five this term amongst his teammates, as does his 1.1 interceptions per match (WhoScored).

The Gers are on the edge of winning a first piece of major silverware in 10 years – with 13 games left in the Premiership, they are 23 points ahead of Celtic (BBC). Having Jack back in the side could be vital in helping them get over the line – and he can also contribute in any potential Europa League and Scottish Cup runs too.
