Rangers manager Michael Beale will have Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah on his list of transfer targets, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
The Lowdown: Rangers linked with Rangers
Earlier this month, it was reported that Beale is interested in signing the midfielder during the upcoming January transfer window.
After joining the west London club from Tottenham Hotspur back in the 2019 summer transfer window, Onomah has gone on to make 76 appearances for Fulham across all competitions, chipping in with five goals and eight assists along the way.
With the January window around the corner, Beale’s apparent interest in the £30k-per-week Englishman has been reinforced.
The Latest: Onomah on Beale’s radar
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, O’Rourke had this to say about Rangers’ and Beale’s reported interest in Onomah:
“I believe he does like Josh Onomah from Fulham. He was interested in possibly signing him when he was at QPR, so he’s a player that’s definitely on Beale’s radar.”
The Verdict: A risk for Beale?
With just 14 minutes of action to his name for Fulham this season, it could be assumed that a move to Rangers, where he may have a better chance of playing regularly, could be a tempting prospect for the 25-year-old.
However, despite being praised for his “incredible” performances in the past by journalist George Sessions, Onomah’s efforts in the Championship last season didn’t do much to paint him as a suitable signing for Rangers.

For example, despite scoring one goal and providing three assists in his 20 Championship appearances last term, the midfielder only managed to earn himself a rather underwhelming overall performance rating of 6.44/10 from WhoScored, making him one of the lowest-rated Fulham players to start at least one game.
Regardless of Beale’s apparent fondness for the player, we feel that it could be a risk to see Rangers sign him in January.
