Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted to be welcoming a familiar face back to Ibrox this summer as Steven Gerrard looks to roll back the years.
The former Liverpool midfielder has been busy since being named as the new manager of the Light Blues, and has already signed six new players to try and make a difference to his squad. Gerrard is keen to make an impact, and it is thought he is far from done with the changes he intends to make.
However, he has also been busy with his backroom staff this summer as well, having appointed Gary McAllister as his assistant, and has decided to bring a former Ibrox hero back to the Glaswegian outfit this summer.
Peter Lovenkrands has signed a new deal with Rangers to become a full-time coach for the reserve team, having announced his delight on Twitter.

Having spent six years as a player for the Gers between 2000 and 2006, he joined the club last summer as a youth coach under Pedro Caixinha, yet it appears Gerrard is keen to keep him in the ranks as the 38-year-old continues his reshape of the Scottish giants.
Landlord’s Verdict: The confirmation that the Dane will be staying at the club can only be a good thing for the Rangers side.
He will be able to tell the players what it means to play for the first team, and hopefully mould them into the players the locals in the Tavern expect them to be.
