A number of Rangers fans have called for Ianis Hagi to be nominated as the team’s primary penalty taker after the topic was broached by ‘Gers fan @JwWatp on Twitter.
Who should be Rangers regular penalty taker atm because I’m struggling to think of one. Tavernier has missed 3 this season Morelos missed 1 and Arfield missed yesterday?

The Light Blues have a decidedly poor record from the spot this season, with Scott Arfield’s unsuccessful spot kick against Hamilton on Saturday the fifth penalty out of nine that Rangers have failed to convert in 2019/20. James Tavernier has been unable to convert three of his five penalties in the current campaign while Alfredo Morelos had a spot kick saved in the 0-1 Betfred Cup final defeat to Celtic two months ago.
January signing Ianis Hagi has yet to take a penalty for Rangers but he arrived at Ibrox with a stellar record from 12 yards. He has converted 11 of the 14 spot kicks taken during his career and has succeeded with each of his last eight penalties, with only one fluffed penalty in the last three years. [via TransferMarkt]

In response to the question posed by @JwWatp, these ‘Gers fans on Twitter expressed their desire to see the on-loan Romanian assume spot kick duties for the foreseeable future:
Hagi has a phenomenal record

Hagi no doubt, missed 1 in 3 years and scores with both feet

— Alfredco Morelos (@Pena_Cartel) February 9, 2020
Hagi he’s scored two in one game one with left foot one with his right.

Hagi uses both feet for pens and is meant to be decent at them

Hagi should be on all set pieces IMO
