Rangers fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been in great spirits recently as they return to the Scottish top flight for the first time in four years, and the Daily Record have news that may increase boost their moods further.
Reports suggest that last week Rangers manager, Mark Warburton, took a cross-Atlantic trip to New York with the intention to sign to sign former Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth and Queens Park Rangers midfielder, Niko Kranjcar.
Kranjcar, who scored 24 goals in his time at the respective clubs, has been playing his football for the New York Cosmos in the North American Soccer League (the second tier of American soccer) since the turn of the year.
The 31-year-old has scored six goals in all competitions for the club (since being released by Dynamo Kiev) but Warburton is hoping to lure the playmaker back to British football, as Rangers look to secure their top flight status and bring the Old Firm derby back to the Scottish Premier League.
