Though Oumar Niasse has bagged three goals in a week, the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping their side bring in a striker this January.
Indeed, the Toffees in the Tavern believe Romelu Lukaku wasn’t adequately replaced, despite the huge sums of money spent on Merseyside this summer, so recent reports linking them with a big move for a Premier League forward have proven rather exciting.
According to the Daily Mirror over the course of the weekend, Arsenal star Olivier Giroud is a £40m target at Goodison Park, having also been linked with the Frenchman during the summer window.
Though Giroud has often divided opinion in north London, few would doubt the fact that he’d be a wonderful signing for a club such as Everton, though not every fan on social media seems all that convinced.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to the Giroud-Everton rumours.

No way we will pay £40m for Giroud, & then another £25m for King too #Everton.

No not a chance, after seeing us play I would rather we sign someone with pace or a winger he will actually play
