Real Madrid fans have been reacting angrily to a recent report that appears to have criticised Luka Jovic’s contribution to the club on Twitter.
Luka Jovic is the least productive forward signing in recent years at Real Madrid – it's been 63 days since his debut for the club and he still haven't scored. Nobody has gone as long without hitting the net for Real as Jovic, not even Huntelaar or Emmanuel Adebayor. [@marca] pic.twitter.com/qDbEmUZBg2

According to Marca, as relayed by Infinite Madrid, the Serbia international is the least productive forward signing in recent years, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar both having hit the net and getting off to a quicker start.
However, those claims by the newspaper appear to have sent some of the club’s fans on Twitter into overdrive with many of them leaping to the defence of their initial €65m (£56.7m) summer arrival (The Guardian).
Indeed, Jovic has been featured rather sparingly by Zinedine Zidane since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu, as he has played just seven times for the La Liga giants, with just two appearances having come from the start (Transfermarkt).
According to data collected by WhoScored, the 21-year-old has been afforded just 218 minutes on the pitch, in which he has only managed to achieve a total of 1.3 shots per game in top-flight Spanish competition, with 1.2 of those coming from inside the penalty area.
Fans appear to have taken exception to the report by Marca and have slammed it by suggesting that was always going to happen with his limited match action.
Here are just some of their reactions to it on Twitter…
63 days is Bogus. How many minutes has he played though. Should give him time. If he picks up, all these would be gone. He barely plays you know.

You need to play to score…

How many minutes was he given to play

This kid is a huge player who just needs minutes & confidence.
Benzema start in every game, no rotation.
He doesn’t even put him in the 60th minute so he’ll really have time to influence the game.
Give him the minutes that benzema get and he score more then that donkey.— Adir Amar (@AdirAmar88) October 12, 2019
Every time I see him in training his banging goals. We need to see him more on the field

That’s the bad record you have when given a chicken change minutes in a game which is about to end. Just give him a full match minutes, bet me you’re gonna have a good taste of Jovic. Ugh!
