Real Madrid’s seemingly endless list of injuries now has one more name on it.
Fringe player Federico Valverde has reportedly torn a muscular tissue in his left leg whilst on international duty, and will be ruled out of action while he recovers (MARCA via Football Espana).
The 21-year-old – who is a product of Madrid’s Castilla B team – has featured once for the club this season, but now joins the likes of Marco Asensio, Brahim Diaz and Luka Modric in the treatment room.
The La Liga titans have suffered enormously with injury set-backs this term, with Eden Hazard still yet to feature competitively for the club. The Belgian is reportedly fit and available for Madrid’s game against Levante tomorrow, however.
Amazingly, Valverde’s latest setback means he is the 12th Real Madrid player to pick up an injury this campaign, according to ESPN. After the news broke on Twitter earlier today, plenty of fans were quick to vent their frustrations on the matter…

Are you serious!!? ⅔ of the midfield positions are in the sickbay, now including Valverde but you wouldn’t notice that.
Who are the players to suit up then?— Terax (@fivga) September 13, 2019
