The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc across the planet and Liverpool have not been immune to its reach.
The Reds lead the Premier League by a huge 25 points and were just two wins and six points away from confirming their status as champions of England, but that has at the very least been delayed following the suspension of the league. Now, the current situation is likely to have an impact on their plans for next season and beyond.

Liverpool reporter and The Athletic writer James Pearce has penned an article detailing what effect the disease could have on the club’s transfer dealings. He has said that any big business this summer is unlikely given the revenue loss due to football not being played.

Given that the Anfield outfit have spent just £9.36m on transfers in the last year, some of the club’s supporters do not seem too happy at all with this news. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:
Spent 2M last summer. Got the Nike sponsor. Still are in need of money? Typical.

100% agree with this. People forget that we haven’t spent anything really for the last 2 transfer windows. In that time we have finished in the top 2 twice, won the champions league. Where is the money going???

No excuse, poor from our owners, we just so lucky to have a manager who can get the best out his players he has… think we will fall short next season if we can’t roatate to a strong standard 🤷♂️

Excuses excuses excuses. Didn’t spend a dime last year, been in 2 CL finals and they have no money. Pathetic.
