According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool could be set to lose £35m on their deal to sell Philippe Coutinho.

After being sent out on loan to Bayern Munich, it looks as though the Brazilian’s future at Barcelona is non-existent.
The current pandemic has delayed any transfer talk, though – and not only that, it could see Liverpool lose £35m of the original deal they struck to sell him to the Spanish outfit.

Coutinho made the switch to the Camp Nou for £142m in January 2018 after pushing for a move for the previous six months – he handed in a transfer request at the start of the 2017/18 campaign and there were even rumours he was refusing to put in the effort in training in an attempt to force a move.

He has failed to recreate his top form for the Blaugrana, though. In 76 matches, he managed 21 goals, but the loan spell with the Bundesliga champions shows that he is almost surplus to requirements.
Of course, if the Anfield outfit were to lose £35m of what they should be owed based on performance-related bonuses, it would be a disappointment, but that would still see them pick up around £107m for a player who appears to have lost his way.
That transfer, too, appeared to allow the Reds to sign Virgil van Dijk that very same month for £75m – what an arrival he has proved to be.
