Report: Crystal Palace hoping to agree £120,000 per week terms with 9-goal speedster

Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping that the club can make some valuable additions this summer to ensure that they steer clear of a relegation scrap next season.

The Eagles spent the majority of the campaign inside the drop zone, however, Roy Hodgson managed to successfully guide them to another year in the Premier League. Their change in form was largely in thanks to the performances of Wilfried Zaha, who was sidelined during the early stages of the season with an injury.

The form the Ivory Coast international showed sparked a host of rumours that he could be set to leave Selhurst Park for the second time in his career, however, according to reports, Palace will do everything they can to secure his future.

The Daily Mirror are claiming that the Eagles have made their move to try and extend Zaha’s stay in South-East London with a new bumper deal worth over £120,000-a-week. The 25-year-old, who only signed a new deal last summer, would be made the highest earner at the club should he agree to the terms which have reportedly been tabled.

Landlord’s Verdict

Keeping Zaha at Selhurst Park would be considered as a major signing by many of the Crystal Palace fans in the Tavern.

The Ivorian offers the club a huge threat in the final-third with his blistering pace and fancy footwork, and the fact he notched 9 goals and provided 5 assists in all-competitions proves he has the end-product to match his captivating build up play.

The locals would be concerned if Zaha did leave as he would be impossible to replace, so they will be desperately hoping for him to agree to a new long-term deal in the near future.
