Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with the efforts that Steven Gerrard has already gone through this summer, and as such will be looking forward to what he does next.
The former Liverpool star has been busy in the transfer window this summer trying to restructure his squad, and has been extremely active in his recruitment drive so far, having signed six players already.
Despite all the arrivals at the club, Gerrard is expected to offload a number of his players as well to make room for the fresh faces, at the same time clearing some of the wage bill, with one of Pedro Caixinha’s signings potentially on his way out of the club.
And that’s because, according to a report by The Glasgow Evening Times, flop Eduardo Herrera is one man that could be out of the door as he failed to make an impression since joining from Pumas UNAM for a fee of £1.5 million last summer.
The Mexico international striker has failed to make an impact with the Light Blues, scoring just twice in his 21 appearances for the club, and Gerrard is thought to be ready to accept an offer for him should one come in during the close season.
Landlord’s Verdict: Herrera failed to hit the heights at Rangers, and the locals in the Tavern will have been disappointed that he has flopped as badly as he has done.
Many will feel that he does not have a future at Ibrox and will be delighted if they can get an offer near what they paid for him, and as such many will not be sad to see him leave after just one year in Glasgow.
