Report: Potential deal for perfect solution to Liverpool’s conundrum looks dead and buried

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting Jurgen Klopp to bring a new goalkeeper to Anfield this summer, however, they may not be successful in their pursuit of a primary target.

The Reds are keen to solve their shot-stopper crisis they have found themselves in and have looked at the possibility of bringing in a world-class option. Loris Karius made it clear that the club’s goalkeeping conundrum remains a troubling issue during their Champions League final with Real Madrid.

However, a world-class goalkeeper is likely to cost a huge sum of money and, according to reports by Sky Sports News, Liverpool are not prepared to break the bank to bring Alisson Becker to Anfield.

The AS Roma number one has been linked with a move to Merseyside for a number of months, however, it is thought the £80million-plus price-tag is deterring Klopp’s interest in bringing the Brazil international to the Premier League.

Landlord’s Verdict

Alisson would immediately improve the Reds and turn them into genuine title contenders next season and it is thought Liverpool are going to need to spend big this summer if they want a quality goalkeeper to join them.

However, if Klopp is not prepared to spend as high as the £80m valuation for Brazil’s number one, they will need to look at other options, although the likes of Jan Oblak could also prove to be extortionately priced.
