Revealed: 66% of Liverpool fans want this talented attacker to be dropped by Klopp against Brighton

For the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, a win against Brighton this weekend is absolutely essential. It has been a mixed season so far for the Reds, but between a few big Premier League victories and a draw against Chelsea, it’s clear that Jurgen Klopp’s men are beginning to improve once again.

This weekend’s clash with Brighton, then, is all the more important. A win will help to cement that sentiment, whilst a loss could bring everything tumbling down.

Jurgen Klopp, then, will be under a lot of pressure to get things right, particularly with his team selection. He has chosen to mix things up at points throughout the season, most notably against Stoke City earlier this week. Dominic Solanke started the game, much to the surprise of the Anfield faithful, and he put in a decent shift for the Reds.

However, it seems as though a lot of Liverpool fans want that experiment to end already, at least according to a recent poll. When questioned on the topic of whether he should be dropped this weekend, 66% of Liverpool fans responded with a resounding yes, with supporters seemingly keen for Klopp to return to a more familiar line-up against the Seagulls this weekend.

It’s no real surprise, of course. He put in a great shift this week, but he didn’t get on the scoresheet, and he failed to really produce much in front of goal. What he did prove was that he is good enough to play sparingly in the league, but until he starts firing every single week, Klopp clearly needs to prioritise proven talent.

With players like Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah all to choose from, fans are clearly hoping for a bit of an injection of pace, rather than Solanke’s raw technique.
