Revealed: 73% of Liverpool fans backing outcast after transfer nightmare

Reds fans here in the Tavern wait patiently for one particular player to gain a regular starting berth, after his summer move to Anfield. Jurgen Klopp and his side have been on the receiving end of a tough start to the season, with consistency still waiting to be discovered. Although performances have been spirited of late, a constant lapse in concentration has caused for many winning positions to be foiled, resulting in many of the Kop regulars wanting to see a change of defensive heart.

Back in the summer months, Klopp signalled a slightly confused response from many of the surrounding Reds fan base, after a lack of consistency in Alberto Moreno’s performances caused the German to dip into the transfer market to acquire Scotsman Andy Robertson from relegated side Hull City.

Of course, this was an acquisition that raised many eyebrows here in the Tavern, for an ambitious Liverpool side to want the services of a player who couldn’t help his former side’s departure from the Premier League. With that in mind, our Landlord here in the pub recently raised a poll for supporters to vote on the topic, resulting in a whopping 73% of die-hard Reds fans voting in favour of Klopp’s decision to have signed the left-back.

This was somewhat of a surprise, having made just the measly 3 appearances so far this season, creating suspicions of a desperate buy for the manager with his lack of chances resulting in a stagnant first season for the Scot.

Surely a waste of money!

With their current defensive woes causing for a much needed January makeover, the possible inclusion of Robertson could add a different dynamic to help cure the defensive frailties at source, with fans looking keen to witness what they paid for.
