Rodgers must ask the owners to seal these 2 transfers tomorrow for Celtic

Having watched their side make history of late, it’s fair to say that the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern really need little cheering up right now. With the Hoops looking outrageously strong this term, the Bhoys in the bar are on Cloud 9 as we speak.

Still, such is the insatiable nature of the transfer window, some of the drinkers in the bar are waxing lyrical over the idea Brendan Rodgers could bring in some last-minute deals to further bolster his ranks. So far, the Northern Irishman has only brought in Kouassi Eboue over the course of the New Year sales, so there’s certainly room for further arrivals.

Bedding a few in for six months or so in the build up for next season and, hopefully, a stronger Champions League campaign could be a wise move for the Scottish champions, with any potential new signings being afforded a relatively pressure-free opening few months at Celtic.

With that in mind, here are TWO deals Rodgers should ask the owners to seal for him tomorrow.

Hernanes

Perhaps a tad ambitious, though a move for Juventus playmaker Hernanes really would be the icing on the cake during what has been a wonderful season in green and white.

The Brazilian would be the biggest signing in recent years for Celtic, despite his relative struggles in Turin. Able to operate in behind the strikers, the 31-year-old would be a massive draw and someone who could help challenge on the European front.

Henry Onyekuru

The 19-year-old Nigerian has been strongly linked with a move to Parkhead as Rodgers and his backroom staff look long-term. Having watched the signing of Moussa Dembele yield oh so much in the way of success, the forward would be in line with that sort of addition, helping the Hoops on the continental stage.
