Rangers: Andrew Dickson lauds Ryan Kent’s performance

Andrew Dickson has been showering Ryan Kent with praise after the winger’s fine display for Glasgow Rangers in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.

The Lowdown: Job done

After a 4-2 win in the first leg, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team got the job done last night with a 2-2 draw at Ibrox, meaning that they won the tie 6-4 on aggregate.

Should Kent start for Rangers?

James Tavernier would have grabbed most of the headlines with his two goals against Borussia Dortmund, but there were some other sublime performances in a Light Blue shirt on the night.

The Latest: Dickson praises Kent

Taking to Twitter, Scottish football journalist Dickson praised Kent in particular after his performance, along with Tavernier, Calvin Bassey and Alfredo Morelos.

He gushed: “Bassey was brilliant in the second half, did ever so well for the equaliser. Tavernier terrific, Kent showed what a big-game player he is once again. Morelos lazy at Dortmund’s second but made up for it after the break.”

The Verdict: Made for the big stage

As Dickson hinted, Kent is simply made for the big stage, and the 25-year-old certainly came into his element last night.

The winger won 10 duels in the match (more than anyone else) and completed four successful dribbles, only matched by Rangers team-mate Joe Aribo. He was also fouled on four occasions, played one key pass (SofaScore) and was unlucky not to find himself on the scoresheet after having his goal ruled out by VAR.

It was an inspirational performance from Kent, and the Teddy Bears will be hoping that he can maintain those levels in the next round of the competition.

In other news, these were the Gers’ three worst players on Thursday night
