Southampton are interested in signing LASK winger Husein Balic, according to a report in The Daily Mail,
Balic on Saints radar
Balic, who has also been linked with a move to Celtic recently, could be available for as little as £2.8m in January.

As such, it seems the Austria U21 international represents good value, and that has attracted the Saints, as well as Championship side Brentford, to his services.
Bargain move
For that price, Balic looks like an astonishing bargain. So far this season, he has five goals in 13 games, providing two assists, and he has European experience to his name as well.
He is only 24 years old, and his pace, in particular, is terrifying. Known as ‘The Sprinter’ in his homeland of Austria, he clocked up a top speed of 39km/h in a U21 match against France in the past.

Quite frankly, Matt Crocker would be mad not to pursue this deal in more detail. There is next to no risk in trying to purchase Balic. Either he comes in and does fantastically, making the fee paid look even smaller, or he flops and the south coast side move him on without making too much of a loss. It remains to be seen whether the St. Mary’s Stadium outfit strike during the winter transfer window.
In other news, this Southampton outcast is under fire after this “scandalous” behaviour.
