Rangers and Steven Gerrard remain ever optimistic that they can enjoy a great spell together after a good start to the season.
The legendary English midfielder has got off to a good start in management and Rangers will be hoping to get the best out of him, likewise Gerrard with the players. His men idolise him as a player and now as a coach, he is earning more and more respect each game that passes, making Rangers a stronger force this season.
Still with the Gers remaining in Celtic’s shadow, they need a bold statement in the January transfer window should they look to get out and be challenging properly for silverware again.
Manchester United’s Scott McTominay would be a terrific answer to that and may just lead Rangers towards bigger and better things this season.
McTominay, (who is valued at £6.3 million on Transfermarkt) endured a breakthrough season at Old Trafford last season but has this season been limited to less than half an hour of game-time, not enough for a player of his potential.
Although not quite a step up, Rangers would though offer him regular match-time and the chance to be one of the best and most important players under Steven Gerrard.
As a young Scottish boy coming through the academy, it’s clear to see that McTominay is a player with knowledge of the game and quality to still remain with United at the moment.
With the money in the game though, it is progressively harder for a player like Scott McTominay to sustain a place at Manchester United, therefore should he be prized away, Rangers have to be at the front of the cue to grab his signature.
