Celtic gave the fans a Christmas cracker yesterday when they edged out Aberdeen in a seven-goal thriller at Pittodrie. A Scott Sinclair hat-trick will dominate the headlines, but Odsonne Edouard came on to change the game and scored with the most audacious chipped effort that you’ll see for a long time.

Brendan Rodgers looked to his bench when there was just 20 minutes left against Aberdeen with the score at 1-1, and his decision to bring on Odsonne Edouard changed the game. The Frenchman was pivotal as the final 20 minutes saw Celtic score three times, including the incredible effort that he scored himself to put the Bhoys 3-2 up at the time.
His partnership with Scott Sinclair was no doubt crucial to the Englishman bagging himself his 2nd and 3rd goals to make it a Christmas to remember for the star who has struggled so far this season. Getting away from Sinclair, though, the goal of the game has to go to Edouard. The striker was off balance when the ball rolled away from him, and with the Aberdeen ‘keeper charging out, he lifted the ball up and into the far corner with a delightful finish, one that will certainly make the end of season highlight reel.

The Bhoys were delighted with Edouard’s performance and will be keen to see more of the same from the cool Frenchman.
