Celtic team news: Rodgers admits Olivier Ntcham is a doubt for Dundee trip

Celtic will return to Scottish Premiership action on Wednesday night when they meet Dundee at Celtic Park.

The Bhoys are coming off a 3-0 win over Heart of Midlothian to book their place in the Scottish Cup final in December.

Brendan Rodgers will want to keep their recent league form going, having beaten both St Johnstone and Hibernian 6-0 and 4-2 respectively.

Dundee currently find themselves sitting at the bottom of the table, but the Hoops will be wary of complacency as they look to close the gap between themselves and Hearts at the top of the leaderboard.

And, according to the club’s official Twitter profile, Rodgers has revealed he could be without one of his stars for the trip to Dens Park on Wednesday night.

Olivier Ntcham is a doubt ahead of the game, with his manager admitting that he would need to be assessed prior to the game, as well as Eboue Kouassi.

Leigh Griffiths appears to be about to spend a lengthy time on the sidelines as Rodgers revealed he was in the treatment room and said they would check on his progress in a couple of weeks.

Tom Rogic is available for the Bhoys after his recent spell on the sidelines, although he did play the whole game for the Hoops in their win over Hearts at the weekend.

The Verdict:

Although Ntcham has been far from his best this season, it could still be a fairly big blow to Celtic as he can still be an influential figure for the side.

The Frenchman has put in a number of performances that many of the faithful at Parkhead have believed to be of a substandard, especially after the links and rumours of him moving in the summer.

The news that Griffiths being absent for another couple of weeks or so will also be fairly concerning, as he is obviously a key attacking threat and everyone will be hoping that he is not on the sidelines for too much longer.
