Celtic must go back and try to convince Cristiano Piccini to join

Celtic are confidently striding towards even more domestic success with Rangers recently slipping up.

Brendan Rodgers has remained confident in his team and they’re focused on the task in hand – to win the Scottish Premiership.

The Hoops have recovered from a desperately poor start to the season, in order to become favourites for the title yet again.

It will continue to be a hard battle but Celtic should know that signing some players during the January transfer window will make life considerably easier for them.

Signing a right-back has been Celtic fans’ desire ever since the start of the season and a player they missed out on and should try again to sign is Valencia’s Cristiano Piccini.

Piccini, who is valued at £6.7 million on Transfermarkt, was deemed to be a big miss by Celtic after failing to secure his signature in the summer.

Considering that both Cristian Gamboa and Mikael Lustig are in the final year of their contracts, Celtic need to find a solution to their right-back crisis and quick.

Upon moving to Valencia instead of Celtic, Piccini started life in Spain well but recently after suffering an injury, Piccini has been replaced temporarily at least.

With a wealth of experience on his side, it’s easy to see why Celtic might have been keen.

The Hoops have been alerted to this situation and could potentially try and agree a loan deal, which would see both parties extremely happy as Piccini gets the valuable game-time he needs, whilst Celtic finally get their man who is miles better than their current options.
