Celtic: A lot of supporters now defend Ryan Christie after he deleted his Twitter account

Ryan Christie has deleted his Twitter account after a barrage of abuse following his red card for Celtic against Livingston on Sunday, according to The Scottish Sun.
Will Celtic get to 10 in a row?
Yes

No

The midfielder was sent off midway through the first half for a reckless high tackle with the scores level at 0-0.
To compound Christie’s misery, city rivals Rangers secured all three points at home to Hamilton and leapfrogged Celtic to go top of the league going into the international break.
Christie has been in exceptional form this season with 11 goals and five assists but he didn’t get much sympathy for his stupidity. A section of fans took to Twitter to criticise the Hoops midfielder, with some going so far in their vitriol that he has since deleted his account.
Still, these fans showed their support for their player and, whilst not condoning his actions, they let their feelings be known to those who abused him.
I am sure no one feels as bad about Ryan Christie’s red card than Ryan himself and now I read he has deleted his social media because of the abuse he has been getting, so many perfect people out there, disgraceful 😡

he did make a mistake, a mistake that showed he cared. and now he has been forced to quit twitter because of fake fans giving him abuse. ridiculous. ps plastic pitches should be banned in top leagues…

If Ryan Christie as received abusive tweets it’s not on. Fair enough having your say but no need to get personal & nasty about it. Also don’t think he should be on social media if things like that happen. You after to be head strong & ignore like broony obviously he hasn’t 🍀
