Celtic will be hoping to keep the wins coming after the Christmas break, as the Hoops sit at the top of the tree.
It’s been a decent first half of the season for Brendan Rodgers, with a Scottish Cup in the bag and progression in Europe – nothing less than what you would expect.
There are still improvements that need to be made if Celtic want to ensure they wrap up the Scottish Premiership once again though.
Goal-scoring is never a problem for Celtic but should they get any unexpected injuries, their squad isn’t big enough for a replacement to be brought in straight away.
To stop that potential crisis from happening, Celtic need to get ahead of the game and sign a striker like Brentford’s Emiliano Marcondes for example.
Marcondes, (who is valued at £2.2 million on Transfermarkt) has hardly been a goal-scorer for Brentford yet he had no trouble in finding the back of the net whilst at Nordsjaelland prior to his switch to England.
The Norwegian league is far from being up to the quality of the Championship but with a move to Celtic, Marcondes could re-discover his taste for goals.
It was only one year ago that the 23-year-old scored 17 goals and added a further nine assists in just 19 appearances.
If he could recapture form even close to that, Celtic will be delighted to acquire another young talent in the forward department.
Marcondes has a good turn of pace and an eye for goal when given the opportunity, traits that would ensure he transpires to be a great signing for the Hoops and increases their hopes at winning the Scottish Premiership again.
