Celtic have put their Champions League disappointments to one side and focused on improving their chances of having a more successful season in the Europa League, as well as domestic competitions.
They have improved their chances by delving into the transfer market, something they should continue to do until it officially slams shut in around a week.
The Hoops are more than prepared for another good season in the Scottish Championship but it is European success they’re so desperately craving.
The desire to succeed in Europe will require a number of new talented players, one that could be in the form of Dutch defender Jeffrey Bruma – a player valued at £5.4 million on Transfermarkt.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Celtic and what an opportunity for both clubs it could be. The two-time winning Eredivisie champion currently plays his football in Germany with Wolfsburg but after struggling with injury last season, Bruma only appeared in the Bundesliga 11 times.
Celtic could be the perfect club to offer him a lifeline seeing as his time in Germany could be up. The Hoops have been needing a strong centre-back ever since fellow Dutch player Virgil Van Dijk left the club and what a success story he turned out to be.
As the saga continues with Dedryck Boyata, Celtic are in need of a top centre-back like Bruma and fast. He has a strong, physical presence that makes him a top defender and one that would be a tremendous coup for the Hoops ahead of their Europa League campaign.
They need to put failure in the back of their mind and focus on what they can do to amend it, with progress in the Europa League being exactly that.
