Andy Halliday has been one of Rangers most improved players under Steven Gerrard, the midfielder has started to show what he’s capable of when he’s playing with confidence and the Gers are starting to truly appreciate what he’s capable of, with fans waxing lyrical about the 27-year-old as the club send him their birthday wishes.

As Rangers take a break for the international break, Halliday can feel rightly that he’s been overlooked for the Scotland squad. The classy midfielder is starting to show his class under Gerrard and it seems clear that having a mentor like Stevie G is working wonders for the ex-Middlesbrough man. His 12 appearances this season have seen him shine and whilst he’s yet to score under Gerrard, he’s laid on two assists for teammates.
The next step will be for Halliday to start scoring some goals from midfield. The 27-year-old who’s usually deployed as a defensive or a box-to-box midfielder has got 15 Rangers goals to his name and the fact that he grew up a massive Rangers fan makes each goal he scores more important to both him and the fans. The club’s next game after the international break is an away trip to Hamilton and Halliday will be hoping he can get a late birthday present in the form of a goal at the SuperSeal Stadium.

Gerrard has lifted this man. Want to see him be a success.

Like a new player under Stevie G. The benefit of having a world class midfielder as your manager. No surrender Andy.
