Ex-Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has completed a move to St. Mirren.
Alnwick was recently released by the Gers, meaning that he was free to sign for any other club.
As such, he has completed a move to Premiership side St. Mirren, who have recently seen Vaclav Hladky depart.
Whilst he may have spent four years at the club, it never looked like Alnwick would become the Gers’ number one goalkeeper. He played just 11 matches during that time, conceding 17 goals, and spent most of his time out on loan at the likes of Blackpool and Scunthorpe.
They may have wanted to get a fee for the £225,000-valued man – as per Transfermarkt – but there will be few at Ibrox that will be too sad about him leaving. Now, the Gers could well be looking to replace him with Hladky, who is said to be their top target this summer.
Would you liked to have sign Hladky?
Having made 30 appearances in the Scottish top flight last term, Hladky has far more experience north of the border than Alnwick, and could be an astute signing if Gerrard and co can complete their move. It remains to be seen whether Hladky will be with the 54-time Scottish champions next term.
