Rangers fans react to Darren Bent’s recent comments

Rangers supporters have been somewhat downbeat in recent times after seeing their team suffer defeat in the Old Firm derby just prior to the fortnight break for internationals.

Steven Gerrard’s men went into their meeting with bitter rivals Celtic having yet to taste defeat since the Liverpool legend took over during the summer, in which time they made it through to the group stages of the Europa League. Yet they were comfortably second-best at Parkhead last time out as an Olivier Ntcham strike sealed a deserved 1-0 win for Brendan Rodgers’ side, thus moving the Bhoys up to second in the Scottish Premiership table, already four points ahead of Gerrard’s Gers.

Thus, there have been many despondent Rangers fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom are likely to be interested in recent comments from striker Darren Bent, who has issued a ‘come-and-get-me plea’ to the Scottish giants.

The 34-year-old is currently without a club after leaving Championship side Derby County at the expiration of his contract earlier in the summer, thus bringing the curtain down on a three-year stint at Pride Park, in which time the Englishman bagged 28 goals in 86 appearances for the Rams.

Yet the former England international remains without a club and has been speaking about where his next adventure could be, with the striker revealing that he would ‘100 per cent’ want a move to Gerrard’s Rangers.

And these comments have unsurprisingly stimulated quite a reaction from Light Blues fans on Twitter in recent times, with many of them making their feelings very clear indeed that they don’t want their club to sign the £900,000-rated forward (as per Transfermarkt)…
