Rangers: Fans slam Sheyi Ojo’s performance against Legia Warsaw

Rangers were held to a 0-0 draw on Thursday night by Legia Warsaw in the Polish capital, however fans were far from happy with what they saw from one of their players on the night.

Steven Gerrard had admitted following the final whistle that he was happy with how his side had controlled large amounts of the game but also acknowledged that they rarely troubled the hosts in the final third of the pitch.
The Light Blues still have an excellent chance of qualifying for the group stages of the Europa League for the second year in a row, although the manager has revealed he wants Ibrox rocking next week when Legia make the trip to Scotland.
However, it would seem many of the club’s faithful will want to see a better performance from Sheyi Ojo next time around.
The Liverpool loanee was on the field for the full 90 minutes and the young winger had a massive chance to provide Rangers with a goal early on with a headed opportunity.
However, his passing and final ball left much to be desired, with media outlets all touching upon it and writing about how disappointing it was.
Rangers News noted his lack of end product as they gave him a seven out of ten and wrote: “Deceptively quiet as the on-loan Liverpool man caused problems for the Legia defence with his runs all night but the end product wasn’t always there. Noticeably tired as the game went on.”
The Daily Record were not as forgiving regarding his performance, as Ojo was handed a shocking match rating of four, with the following reasoning: “He wasn’t always picked out, but was still too slipshod in possession on left as he failed to provide attacking spark.”
Indeed, it would appear fans were as disappointed as the national outlet and took to Twitter to share their frustrations with his performance.
Here are just some of their reactions…

Is it just me or is Ojo’s tracking back and positional sense shocking at times ?

Ojo isn’t good enough for us. Crying out for Jordan Jones all night yet sticks with ojo for the full game.

Rangers have the ideal player in Jordan Jones, in the we play away from home in Europe. Great out ball, pacy and causes havoc. How Ojo started instead was a mystery.
