Rangers lost further ground on second-placed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership after drawing with Kilmarnock earlier this week, and the pressure is beginning to build on new manager Pedro Caixinha.

Fans were all up for his appointment when the move was announced but after two consecutive draws against Motherwell and now Killie, the scale of the job ahead has finally begun to hit home for the Portuguese gaffer.

But away from the pitch, we’ve seen some real greats grace the pitch down at Ibrox over the years and there’s some figures that Gers fans feel were let to far too quickly, especially in recent years.

Of course, Gers have had quite the fall down the divisions in recent years but are now back at the top, but even still, are there some names that left the club before they reached their fullest potential?

So with that in mind and after a long consultation with our landlord, whose not afraid to get his point of view across at all, here’s the Rangers players the club were far too quick to sell…

Kris Boyd

Back during Kris Boyd’s first spell with Rangers, he was the real star of the team, scoring a mammoth 128 goals in 192 appearances for the club.

They were staggering goalscoring figures which truly endeared himself to the Ibrox faithful for a very long time indeed.

He’s now doing the business at Kilmarnock. but you wonder when the club let him join Middlesbrough all those years ago, whether they should have kept hold of one of the best Rangers goalscorers we’ve seen in recent years.

Carlos Bocanegra

Rangers signed Carlos Bocanegra at the start of their financial struggles and unlike many players, the former USA international remained loyal and didn’t walk away from the club like so many others.

He stayed on till the end and featured over 35 times for the club, often impressing along the way.

He joined Racing Santander after Rangers couldn’t afford to pay his wages but remains a club favourite to this day after his loyalty to the cause.
