Loads of Sheffield United fans reacted to a post from the club’s official Twitter account that included a montage of Dean Henderson.
Earlier this month, The Telegraph revealed that Manchester United will allow Henderson to finish the season at Bramall Lane. Although the 23-year-old has impressed between the sticks for Chris Wilder’s men, the Red Devils have decided he can stay in Yorkshire for the remainder of the campaign, which will surely delight Sheffield United supporters.
Indeed, the Englishman has spent the best part of two seasons on loan with the Blades, helping them to achieve promotion from the Championship and playing his part throughout the 2019/20 season as Wilder’s side mounted a magnificent surge into the top seven of the Premier League. Henderson has made 27 appearances in the English top flight this term, recording 10 clean sheets and conceding only 22 goals so far (Transfermarkt).

In contrast, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea has played in 29 league games for the Reds this season, keeping only eight clean sheets and letting in 30 goals up to now (Transfermarkt). Furthermore, Manchester City’s Ederson has appeared in 25 matches for Pep Guardiola’s team, boasting the same amount of clean sheets as the England international and leaking 24 goals in total.
While it is fair to say Henderson still has quite some way to go before he can reach the same heights as some of his contemporaries, the youngster is certainly on the right track so far.
A lot of Sheffield United supporters are naturally delighted by his performances and many took to Twitter to drool over the club’s “fantastic” montage. Several fans dipped into hyperbole, with one tweeting that his highlight reel is “unbelievable” and another exclaiming that he is the “best in the world.”
