Dom Howson has listed the 17 senior Sheffield Wednesday players that could be heading out the door this summer.
In his latest for Yorkshire Live, Howson highlights the Owls’ poor current season and predicts what could be an overhaul in the summer as more than half of the first team near the end of their contracts.

Garry Monk has reportedly expressed his desire to lower the average age of the current squad, which could involve upheaving an awful lot of current players and bringing in some younger personnel.
As it stands, Wednesday have 12 players approaching the end of their current terms as well as five loanees who are due to return to their parent clubs.

Owls fans have responded to Howson’s latest and are urging for a new structure to their recruitment. The majority of supporters are looking forward to expelling the deadweight and bringing in some new talent. One fan has commented that Steven Fletcher should be the only player to get a new deal, and has said ‘good riddance to most of them’.
The purchasing policy must change. Young, hungry quality players who can develop with club and later have big resale value. Sadly, will stop Paxo's feed though.

Before any over haul is implemented we need to change the manager. Get a manager in who has proven track record of signing players and building teams. Monk January signings have added nothing and the one good one he doesn’t play (Windass). Monk has been poor all season.

Would offer Fletcher a contact on much reduced terms but rest can go and good riddance to most of them.

Can’t come soon enough. Get rid of as many out of contract (except Fletcher) and players still under contract as possible.
