Sheffield Wednesday suffered a reversal at home to Cardiff City yesterday afternoon in the Sky Bet Championship as the Owls lost their second game in a row in the league.
The Owls remain in the top six but only just about and with plenty of sides below them in close proximity, they need to ensure their form improves as quickly as possible.
With that in mind, then, fans will already be thinking about their game on New Year’s Day against Hull City and the need to get three points with the likes of Bristol City snapping at their heels.
Supporters will also hope, therefore, that Steven Fletcher will be back in the squad and ready to play after being out recently with illness and it seems as though he could well figure:
💬 GM: Steven is back on the training pitch but it’s just about building him back up now, hopefully we’ll have him back for the Hull game #swfcLIVE

Monk’s update will be one Owls fans will hope proves accurate and, whilst we wait to see if it does, let’s take a look at the response on Twitter from supporters:

A less than 100% fletcher is better than winnall and rhodes combined. Get fletcher on that pitch
