Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws celebrated his 58th birthday on Monday.

Laws has not managed a club since 2013 but enjoyed spells at Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town and Burnley as well as the Owls throughout his managerial career.
He was at Hillsborough between 2006 and 2009, taking over from Paul Sturrock, who had been sacked with the club sitting fourth from bottom in the Championship.
His initial impact was outstanding, and he quickly turned things around as he led the South Yorkshire side up the table and ultimately secured a solid ninth-place finish, just four points adrift of the play-offs.
In the following two seasons he led the Owls to solid, if unspectacular campaigns. They finished 16th in 2007/08 and 12th in 2008/09.
However, a poor run of results at the start of the 2009/10 season saw him lose his job and he finished his time at Hillsborough having taken charge of 154 matches in total, winning 52 of them (via Transfermarkt).
Whilst was not the most fruitful time in Sheffield Wednesday’s history, Laws wrote his name in Owls folklore by becoming the first manager of the club in 95 years to beat local rivals Sheffield United home and away in the same season.
Despite leaving Wednesday after some bad results, he is still remembered fondly amongst most of their supporters.
On his birthday, the Owls official Twitter account posted a message offering many happy returns to their former manager. In response, plenty of their fans had positive things to say about Laws…
