Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to footage of Ross Wallace

Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans have looked back on some memorable goals from Ross Wallace, which were shared via the club’s official Twitter account.

The Scottish winger currently plays for St Mirren in his homeland after spells in England with Sunderland, Preston North End, Burnley, Fleetwood Town and Wednesday. Arriving at Hillsborough in July 2015, the Dundee born footballer spent three seasons with the Owls, making a total of 124 appearances which saw him score 13 goals in total (Transfermarkt).

With football at a current standstill due to the pandemic, various football clubs and fans have been sharing old footage of players to engage with fans, and a latest video of the former Scotland international’s goals at Wednesday has now emerged.

Wallace’s knack of scoring good goals was clear to see in the footage, made notably obvious by the one he netted against Fulham in January 2016, where he cut inside from the right before dipping a superb curling effort into the back of the net.

Responding to the footage, fans of the club gave a valued response, fondly remembering Wallace for his time and efforts at the club.
